Lanair (now Rock Energy Systems) is a manufacturer of waste oil fired heaters and boilers. The Company was founded in 1976 and pioneered the current technology for the burning of waste motor oil for use in heaters. It is currently the second largest manufacturer of these heaters in North America.
Aldine partnered with Barry Brandt to facilitate his purchase of Lanair. Barry was an experienced operator who had previously served as an executive of a portfolio company owned by a private equity fund in Aldine’s network.
In October 2009, Aldine provided a subordinated note and equity investment to facilitate Barry’s purchase of Lanair.
In November 2011, Aldine provided additional subordinated debt and equity to finance Lanair’s acquisition of Clean Burn – combined to form Rock Energy Systems. Through the acquisition, Rock Energy Systems secured Clean Burn’s strong distribution network and significantly strengthened its market position.
